  2. u all have a very MERRY CHRISTmas and may the new year bring brighter stars for them gloomiest of days. larry fry—-praying for u and Judy–

  3. Thanks Gary for setting me straight and I knew there was a third town in this “humor” , but I couldn’t remember it. I am not going to take the blame for starting this. Bill brought up Lancaster and it set off a “traumatic” event in my head from a long time ago. Lets make up a name for it – how about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Yeah, I like that, has a familiar ring to it and catchy too.

  4. I’ve been to Intercourse a couple of times (Never had intercourse in Intercourse, though. How cool would that be? LOL) And, I’d never heard of Blue Ball, PA (it’s singular, not plural), but it turns out I’ve been through there too. By the way, y’all do know Intercourse is very near Paradise, don’t you?
Personal bragging: Great Grandson #2 arrived today in good shape.

    1. Congratulations, Gary;
My mother used to say, that if she knew that grandchildren would be this much fun, she would have had them first.

  5. It seemed like I was never going to get off Blue Balls Road in my youth, much less actually get to Intercourse.

  6. Hey LT don’t let short round get under your skin here. Once he’s got you going the harassment could get relentless. Besides, his brain is a bit addled with all that heat he has to endure!

  7. Years ago, I had to make a phone call to Blue Ball , Pennsylvania. I called the operator and she told me there were TWO Blue Balls in Pennsylvania…….I cracked up so much, I had to get off the phone……….. The other Blue Ball was in what is now West Decatur, Pennsylvania. They have since changed the name to avoid confusion, but there is still a Blue Ball Road in West Decatur……True story.

  8. Ben,
Kay said she would not live in Intercourse. Did not know there was a Blue Balls. Will need to mention that to her………

  9. I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful, successful New Year. My wife and I are heading back to Texas to spend some time with our Grandkids, and then it’s back to Italy, where I hope to close things out and return to Texas to work at the 75th Division, in Houston. Godspeed, all you Grunts!!

  10. Lancaster County – fond memories. You can go from Blue Balls to Intercourse in just a short ride.
God bless you Bill. You have put in your time. Enjoy your retirement. And you too Kay.

  11. Hey Bill, Lancaster is Amish country…..You can trade in your car for a horse and buggy…….Merry Christmas to all of Charlie Company and your families.

  12. LT,
Kay & I are retiring in June & moving outside of Lancaster, PA to be closer to our daughter’s family. Next year I can really complain about being cold. God bless you all during this season & may your joy be overflowing.

  13. Bill,
I used to think I was young but not anymore. You southern types got a taste of cold lately also. I have decided we are going to have a short winter as we are having January’s weather in December. This next week we may have two significant snowfalls including one on Christmas Eve which will be nice. Sorry about all of my soapboxing but SR hit a nerve about the reunions.

  14. LT,
You may be getting older but I am 39 again for the 26th time. Did I really do all that “humping”? I now realize it was all a dream like the time I was thin……………….

  15. No one drags anyone to one of our get togethers and I certainly believe that all who attend have always had a great time with our shared brotherhood and fellowship. I feel sad for those who can’t or won’t come as they are really missing out. I have heard several attendees say that it was really theraputic and that they really benefited from the opportunity to relive and release. The idea of annual events came up as we discovered we weren’t getting any younger and wanted to evolve our relationships before it was too late. I have been to all since Decatar AL and will make all in the future as long as my health permits.

  16. lt–my fiber is doing quite well without arctic temps, but thanks for the fiber concern. as for “real men” –you mean those many “frosties” on lawns, built by people that can`t exit their driveways due to snow ?
is it just me or are we getting a bit reunion happy these days ?being caught downwind from a bunch of grunts is bad enough every 2 yrs.

It’s about 76 degrees here in Texas today. We are flying out to Chicago this afternoon to attend my buddy’s daughter’s wedding on Saturday. What’s up with the cold weather? My blood is too thin for nights in the teens and single digits. Isuppose the Captain & coke will ease the pain.

  18. Rick:
The 2011 reunion date of September 15-17 has been set. I have exchanged emails with Poncho and Fred today and they are in the process of selecting a motel in Killeen, TX. As soon as a contract is signed with the motel, there will be a reunion notice posted.
There is two Charlie Company groups that will be having reunions next year. I have the information on the 1970-1973 group of guys, but have not had time to get the notice up yet.

  19. Rick,
The planning for next years reunion was taken on by Fred Chin and Eduardo Martinez-Torres and the plan now is to have it in Harker Heights TX just outside Ft. Hood around mid-Sep. Then next one after that is being taken on by Doc Whitebird and is going to be in the Rapid City SD area.

  20. I may have asked this already, and it has probably been answered, but in my advancing years, I seem to have misplaced the response.
When and where is the next reunion being held? I heard it was going to be near Ft Hood, texas. I really want to attend.
    Thanks

  21. Up in Wisconsin with the daughter – was 7 when I got up, went up to 8 now back down to 4 degrees. Good news! No one is shooting at me.
Had a horrible blizzard back in Iowa over the weekend. Funeral for one of our veterans on Saturday. So miserable we didn’t get the rifles out or the flags – just hand salute. Graveside, the minister fell gettig out of the hearse and while waiting for the ambulance everyone left including the family.
