I made my hotel reservations today for Killeen with a Thursday arrival and Sunday departure. Mailed Poncho the fee today also!

  2. I just got my motel reservations for Killeen, TX reunion. I am going to arrive on Thursday and leave Monday morning. Hope to see a bunch of you brothers there.
Tooch, it’s good to see you post. I bet there are a lot of guys that can hlep you get thru the system. I have never been to the VA, so I don’t have a clue. We also have a couple of our guys that work at the VA. Johnnie Pearson just retired from the VA.

  3. Hey guys,
Got back last night from the 196 LIB reunion in Seattle. It was a good show and a wonderful time. I got to spend time with Terry and Louise Roberts(took me around town to include going to Ft. Lewis and its outstanding PX facility–went to see the apartment complex where I lived when stationed there 71-74 and it is now a Walgreens), Dan and Lori Roczniak and Carl and Linda Fryman(these two couples went on the AK cruise after the reunion) and I BSed with many other folks as you know I would. Hotel was a real nice Hilton(pricy but elagent). Hope to see all of you in Killeen and at this point am considering a run down to Iowa to see Gary Capshaw and his bunch.

  4. I mailed an application to the v.a. for benefits [ptsd] .They can’t find the application, and I am not in their database. I guess the v.a. hasn’t changed much in the last 40 years. By the way; to all you guys talking about tuning the big 60, I was 63 last week . Tooch

It sure has been hot and warm back home in the SE corner of Colorado. I suppose everyone else is flooding. Lots of 100+ temp and 30 mph wind.

  7. thnx u-all//glad u r out of hospital rick///yes i went right when turned 18//came to your state and done the rigourus training at FT ORD//ended up in rvn jan ’70

  8. Rick,
Hospitals are bad. People get sick in them even if not sick when they go in. I know about hear problems: heart attack at 40, double bi-pass, stints, etc. Glad you are home.

  9. rick perkins–C-2/1–nov of 70, just got out of dayton ohio hospital, after a 16 day stay for heart problems. rick is another youngin–will be 60 this december.

  10. Larry,
Happy Birthday Young Man! LT has 6 years time in the world on you! Time really flys by quickly as you age as I guess it becomes more and more precious. Make the best of the time we have remaining!

  11. Happy birthday Larry…..You must be the one of the youngest, if not the youngest of all Charlie Grunts…….I turn 61 on September 12…… Any other utes (youths) out there?

  14. just back from the root of all evil–washington d.c. my daughter lives nearby and we made the rounds in d.c. did say HI to a few of our combat brothers on THE WALL.
lt–reason your power was off–we took up a collection and paid off a chicago electrical lineman–told him you wanted to feel like a grunt again.we couldn`t afford the plumber guy to do your water–maybe next time

  15. Russ
Invest in generator at least there will be cold beer and you can share some electric with
    women.

  16. Hey Chuck, I think this is shaping up to pushup contest in Killeen. Maybe I can get back to 20 by then…… Now, if we had a reunion in Bangkok I’d be work’in toward 50.
But ya know another flashback in this power outage was having to drink warm beer. Not even a block of ice to roll ’em on.

  17. Wally……similar, but one big difference…..we didn’t have the female half of the breed to contend with. All the hotels for miles around were booked and leaving for Killeen early was contemplated. No blow dryer or curling iron is almost nuclear, as we’ve learned this week. LT……I feel your pain…

  18. Guys!
Back on line today after having no electricity for 4 and 1/2 days! Big storm early Monday morning kicked butt! Early to bed and early to rise with no TV or computer sucks!

  19. on fox-msn-other channels//he allegedily told congress to pass what he wants or there will be no ss/va// cks mailed out//this was today//after asking the american people to allow a Moske at GROUND ZERO//after helping out the big bussiness’s- mortage/insurance companies which raised everybodies premiums//people with good credit/houses/ are being forced to find different living quarters//i personaly know a few as i’m shure you do///i’m glad this is a site that allows you to sound off

  20. the news stated that the man in the big chair in the WHITE house wants to destroy what we–the servicemen past/present/future have foght so gallantly fore.//i don’t want this to sound inflamatory
