Clay,
I would question more than your credibility! Maybe your sanity. However, I still and always will have the highest respect for medics.
We got a couple of LRRP rations once. Major treat just because it was different. We also got some old C’s which weren’t much different than the more current ones, except the cigarettes were old w/ more unfiltered brands and one meal had a can of bread. Now that was a hit. Seems like ham & mfs were a staple in those old ones also. I was not a picky eater and they were different so I ate them with no complaint. My credibility was questioned but my lofty status a the medic soon overcame that .
lt–congrats to your daughter. who knows what new type advamced degrees are coming next.
That’s pretty special, LT. Give her our congrats.
ps: Sounds like a good excuse to celebrate with a few more beers. 🙂
Outstanding Ruesch family. Not only does Tai have the beauty genes but she must have passed on the brain genes also. LT, I know you did your part and I will figure it out eventually. I know all are proud and you should be.
Ken…Congratulations to you and Tai and Cindy…I hope she gets a nice job out of it.
OOPS! I forgot to mention that the Doctorate is in Curriculum and Instruction
Hey guys!
The Ruesch family now has a doctor! No not one of those medical kind but rather a PHD! My oldest daughter Cindy presented her Doctorial Dissertation today at Loyola University School of Education today as Tai and I watched and will receive her hood in graduation ceremonies on May 12, 2012. Boy are we proud of all of her accomplishments! Afterwards her and her husband Bill treated us to lunch at the Sky Deck restaurant on the 95th floor of the Hancock Building.
Short Round: We got some of those old C’s too, but they’re far from the best meal I ever had. LOL
Late in my tour, mid-1971, they actually started sending us hot A’s about every 3 or 4 days. The hot food was something of a mixed blessing, though, because the birds gave away our position and it made us a perfect target for mortars.
gary–while with the 82nd in 3 corps we actually got 1948 C-rats, so a cooked meal was a blessing after that..
micro-waving tv dinners count as cooking ?
I’d slap my momma for a chicken and rice lurp.
Short round: One of your best meals ever was Army food? Dude…you REALLY need to learn how to cook! 🙂
thnx —Hope everyone a great thanksgiving
