  1. Bill,
Still having problems with the emails. If you don’t specifically see something in the title thats seems relevant, go ahead and delete.

  2. LT….. is the virus on your e-mail fixed?…My wife said you sent an e-mail recently but she deleted before opening.

  3. I got a nice letter and a nice donation for the web site from one of our brothers that doesn’t want his name mentioned. I am only posting this to show my appreciation for the financial help in maintaining this site.

  4. ben–i know that feeling.was at the D.C.WALL 3 times, the 4th time,in houston TX at a traveling wall. it hit me and the eyes get wet everytime now. don`t know if thats what it took for the emotions to break free, but as you say, it don`t get easier. looking for names on different panels seems to magnify the losses. like i wish some names were on the smaller panels, but we were in the time frame that we were.
getting close to 22 oct–my ETS day-42 years ago

  5. Bill C.
Glad to hear you might be able to make the trip to DC next July. I would love to see you again and going to the wall for my 3rd time with the men I served with would be very special to me.

  6. I have seen the wall several times over the years. As I get older it becomes harder each time. As my life has unfolded both good and bad, those men did not have the options of making good or bad decisions. God bless them all.

  7. Short Round and Terry….Albany Airport is about 40 miles from Saratoga, 50 miles from Lake George and 75 miles from Cooperstown…..Buses are available for those destinations…I got up at 8 o’clock this morning and it was 34 degrees out…too cold too early…..I saw a smaller replica of “The Wall” a few years ago, but never have visited the real one…..DC in July sounds do-able to me….I can take the Amtrak train from Albany.

  8. good to see a couple grunts warmed up their C`s and typing fingers. must have been good C`S–yummy huh.
D.C. sounds like a good place to gett togeher, provided politicians keep their distance.
ed–you get the emailed pics ?
bill–any major airports in the upper NY area you mention ?
dang frigid back east weather–need to get back to AZ-the land of warm.

  9. Fast Eddie, sorry I missed that one, some stuff going on that could not be diverted. That said, onward to D.C. for the 196th reunion. What an honor it would be to have my brothers there, asmany as possible, go to that wall together. I hope that can happen, last weekend next July.

  10. Terry: I missed seeing you in Rapid City. We had a great time. Hope to see you at the next one.
Ty Harper and I came home on the same Freedom Bird 42 years ago today. Welcome Home Brother!! See you this winter in Florida.
    Love all you guys!

  11. SR…..Heating up the meatballs and beans…..LT…there is another nice area to consider in upstate ny….Cooperstown ……It has the Baseball Hall of Fame.

  12. Hey guys!
A group of us decided in Rapid City that we would try to get together in Washington DC with 196LIB July 25-28 2013 for their reunion. We would love to see as many of our brothers there. I will post more as info becomes available.
Bill Connell-There was some interest expressed about coming to Lake George NY probably in 2014(the group that liked the idea usually likes September time frame)

  13. who was it that once said–reason grunts don`t write (post comments) very often is caused by after effects from too many cans of cold C-rats. ok fellow grunts—warm up the C`s and get to posting.

  14. Wow, everyone lost communications! I for one had a great time at the reunion.
I want to thank Gary Evans, Ken Ruesch, and Wally Searight for their generous donations for the expenses of keeping the web site going. It is great to see the appreciation!
I also want to thank Fred Passe and Ed Davis for bringing me some home grown tomatoes.
It was great to see you brothers!

    1. I had a 600 mile trip that I made on Sunday. We left after my guard duty was over at 6a.m., before a lot of you guys got up. I had a great time.

  15. Hi. fella’s. I want to take this time to thank everyone for taking the time to welcome me to my first reunion. I had a wonderful five days.It warmed my heart that so many of you remembered me. I look forward to seeing you guys in the future. Tooch

  16. Hi Guys!
Back from another reunion. Had a wonderful time as ususal. Highlight of the trip other than sseing 26 brothers and many with their wonderful wives was seeing the Crazy Horse Moument and Mt. Rushmore iit up at night and stand on the ampitheater stage being cheered by the crowd. My thanks to Doc Whitebird and his lovely wife for hosting us. More to follow on future reunions.

  17. I remember a discussion about what to do if you were taking a dump and incoming started-what to do? The vote (hard to believe we had such discussions, isn’t it?) was mostly to let mother nature finish first and then get back to combat. It happened to me once. We were just getting set up for the night and I was out a bit beyond the perimeter, still daylight and we started to take small arms fire. I made the decision not to get my sweaty fatigures even more disgusting and finished, ran back, picked up the 90 (I had an fng with me, who patiently waited for me to come back). We fired two or three rounds at the treeline, CO (Morris or Hines, I don’t remember) called “ceasefire” and that was it. No one hit. I was relieved-in more ways than one!

  18. if your there and find a bottel of JIM-BEAM has appeared on thr display mantel///a couple big shots is what the doctor says is good for my bones….js

  19. We are having tons of fun Drinking lots of beer in the evenings. Lt. Wagner and I closed

were here. heh heh heh !! Life is good.

  20. I hope everybody has a good time at the reunion….LT…I am sorry somebody put a trojan on your horse…..Somebody make sure my old pal Pancho gets a shot of tequila, God bless all.

  21. OK troopers who are coming to Rapid City. Bring a light jacket as it will be cool. The elevation of the hills is higher than any mt. range on the east coast. I will be in Rapid City
on Thursday afternoon. Have a safe trip.

  22. WARNING–looks like LT ken has a trojan horse virus in his address list. DO not open the site in his latest emails.
